This is an introductory workshop designed for educators who are becoming familiar with teaching writing to young children.
Participants will learn narrative techniques-including the effective use of dialogue, show-not-tell, character, and plot development.
- Using rubrics and anchor papers to assess student work
- Linking assessment results to curriculum, instruction, and improving student performance
In a career of more than 20 years in education and going to professional development meetings, there have only been one or two experiences that have changed the way I approach teaching. The Exemplars workshop has been one of them.
Exemplars helps bridge the gap between standards on a page and students and teachers in the classroom.
