Exemplars has been a fantastic problem-solving resource for our school. The rich, multi-step tasks get kids thinking critically and creatively about math problems, and the problem-solving process helps kids understand the importance of communicating their thinking so others understand their process. The student rubric is a great tool for students to evaluate their solutions and critique the solutions of their peers. All of the tasks are aligned with CCSS, making it easy to select tasks for any standard in grades K-8. Exemplars even has an alignment guide with Illustrative Math, helping us pick the best tasks for any unit we are teaching!
